Our lakes, streams and seas are in trouble. It is the result of many things, from over-consuming water to over-harvest of fish to pollution to invasive species. Many of the main issues come from problems in our broader environment because our “lifestyle runs downstream.”
Anglers - people who love to fish - are the first to notice, because we spend time on the water observing our surroundings. Problems in our environment often show up first in our waters - it all runs downstream. We’re doing something about it with the 24 Hour Fish-A-Thon...

This was a "lifetime" event. The participating ladies were well over and above "patients" but more like "healers", to themselves, to each other, and to everyone who celebrated life and this outstanding retreat together. The Hartford raised over $38,000 so each participant had no expense. TCTU donated reels and web info; "Laughing Trout" donated a custom bamboo rod with a TFO loaded reel and a TCTU box filled with custom tied flies for all participants...

A note from Jerry regarding the PHW/VA Outing on Tuesday (5/19/09)
What a day. We were feeling a little warm yesterday but no one noticed as the camaraderie among the veterans with their family members, VA staff and volunteers was at a high ( we had to chase this guy off the river as the smoke was blinding us). We even found a little shade to have a bite together and continue the fellowship...
