Below please find a note written by Bruce regarding his Guided Trip on the Brule with Scott Thorpe, purchased at the 2009 TCTU Banquet.
I had set up my guided trip with Scott Thorpe for April 3rd. Four inches of snow was still on the ground, the temps in the 30’s, the water level and flow speed correct, and river temps were 38.6 degrees. Scott, his dog Cricket and I set out to stand in the middle of the Brule and wet some line. Scott sharpened my fly fishing techniques and educated me on Czech Nymphing and with his knowledge of steelhead. Scott taught me not only the holes that steelhead were in and the names of every hole that we fished but just what a steelhead does spawning, pre-spawning and what it takes to land a steelhead.
I landed three steelheads that weekend (18”, 23” and 8”) with a lot of smiles! With Scott’s experience as a guide and a fisherman I recommend everyone should bid for his guided trip.
